The biggest detriment to the USA is the quantity of quality players being within driving distance to constantly train and play together. If you look at the best footballing countries in the world, they can drive or take a train to play against the top level soccer players in the country.

No matter the level of play from youth to academy to professional to international play the US trained players are always 3 steps behind other nations when it comes to their players technical abilities. When I reference technical ability I’m referring to the basic technical fundamentals of the game from striking a ball on goal, to pinging a ball to a teammate, to creativity while beating your man. Players in the US do not have the ball at their feet enough and don’t have environments around them to enable them to do this. This is why the The Training Pitch exists.
